Elisenstraße
Elisenstraße 3, 50667 Köln
In the early 20th century, many doctors and lawyers and their families lived and worked in Elisenstrasse, around the corner from EL-DE House. One of them was the Moses family, who lived there until 1936, and had consulting rooms, in Elisenstrasse 3 and 9. The central location provided excellent conditions for a flourishing professional, cultural and social life.
The drawing shows the façade of Elisenstrasse 3 in 1947. The building was hardly damaged in World War II, but today there is little to remind one of its original appearance. Typical features like the stucco decorations and oriel windows were removed in 1950.
