The municipal ‘Israelite elementary school’
A school with a state curriculum

Schildergasse 82, 50667 Köln

The Israelite elementary school was located here from 1875. Around 1909 it moved out of the building and in the following years occupied various sites in the old town centre. In 1922, it moved into a new building in Lützowstrasse, where it remained until October 1938, when the Nazi authorities evicted it. While a number of documents from the time in Lützowstrasse have been preserved, virtually no records exist of the school’s early years in Schildergasse.
